Tim Walton, whose contract as Detroit Lions secondary coach expired after the season, interviewed with the St. Louis Rams on Saturday, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Walton is a candidate to be the Rams' assistant defensive coordinator for the passing game, according to the report.
He coached the Lions defensive backs the last three seasons. The Lions have offered Walton and other assistant coaches new contracts, but have not announced any re-signings other than coordinators Gunther Cunningham (defense), Scott Linehan (offense) and Danny Crossman (special teams).
The Lions also could lose defensive assistant Brandon Fisher to the Rams, a team source said. Fisher is the son of new Rams coach Jeff Fisher, and the Tennessee Titans' refusal to hire him as an assistant last winter contributed to Fisher's departure there.
Brandon Fisher just completed his first season with the Lions.
