Following a Q&A session with fans, the players signed autographs and took pictures with a die-hard part of Cardinal Nation.

A highlight of the day for the Cardinals came when they visited St. John's and Cox South. Fredbird brought a smile to the faces of many kids staying at the hospitals as well as their families.

The new Cardinal skipper says the uniform gives them a great opportunity to give others encouragement.

"Some kids just need a boost," Matheny said.  "When you show up with Fredbird, get some laughs and then say hey, you can beat this thing."

'It was just awesome to have them and Fredbird in our room," Teresa Perkins said about the Cardinals visit to St. Johns.  Perkins and her daughter, Molly, have been at St. John's since Monday.  Battling pneumonia, Molly got a gift from the Cardinals - a new teddy bear.

The Cardinals Caravan will wrap-up their Friday at the Tournament of Champions at JQH Arena to sign more autographs.  Saturday, the players will head to Joplin for the next stop on their winter tour.
