St. Louis Rams Talk to Pearl River Native Gaine About GM Job - Patch.com

The Miami Dolphins promoted Pearl River native Brian Gaine to Director of Player Personnel just this past offseason.

Now Gaine is a candidate to be an NFL general manager with the St. Louis Rams.

The Rams spoke with Gaine about the position recently according to this report on NFL.com. St. Louis fired General Manager Bill Devaney Monday and Head Coach Steve Spagnuolo Monday. The Rams finished this season 2-14 and hold the No. 2 overall selection in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Other candidates for the job include Baltimore Ravens Director of Player Personnel Eric DeCosta, Atlanta Falcons Director of Player Personnel Les Snead and Lake Dawson, the Tennessee Titans' vice president of football operations.

Before his promotion this past offseason, Gaine worked for three years as the Dolphins' assistant director of player personnel. He has also worked for the New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys during his 14-year NFL career.

Gaine played for a state championship football team at Don Bosco Prep in New Jersey and graduated from the University of Maine before spending time on the practice squads with three NFL teams as a tight end.
