Fan who caught Freese World Series home run ball attends Home Opener - KSDK

St. Louis (KSDK) -- The St. Louis Cardinals fan who got to live out the ultimate dream following the Redbirds World Series Game 6 plans to attend the Cards Home Opener for the 2012 season.

Dave Huyette, of Maryville, and a friend were sitting in the bleachers when the 11th inning walk-off home run David Freese hit in Game 6 came flying towards him.

Huyette jumped the fence, wrestled the ball then shoved it down his pants before anyone could notice.

Huyette and his friend ended up in the Cardinals clubhouse after the game. He offered David Freese the ball. Freese then gave him a bat he signed and a baseball signed by the team.

Huyette also got to meet some other Cardinals that day.
