The New England Patriots release Chad Ochocinco. Could the St. Louis Rams use him?

Jun 8, 2012 - So: Chad Ochocinco was released by the New England Patriots Friday morning. Since he's a wide receiver people recognize and the St. Louis Rams are the St. Louis Rams, we're required to ask: Could Chad Ochocinco still help the Rams at 34?

Maybe that's the wrong question. Could the Rams' wide receiving corps be so bad that Chad Ochocinco could still help it at 34? In his defense, Ochocinco is still only two years removed from a big season, and was competent in 2010 before being barely used in 2011. The Rams could definitely still use a player like the one he could theoretically still be. And with Steve Spagnuolo gone, Ochocinco's multiple violations of the Four Pillars wouldn't be an issue.

Alas, the Rams appear to have thrown their lot in with a much less interesting veteran reclamation project, (New York Giants) Steve Smith. He may be a little less done than Ochocinco, but he's also much less likely to star in a talk show, unless Jerry Springer tries to get all the athlete Steve Smiths into one room and a fight erupts.
