Youth is a big deal on the 2012 St. Louis Rams. The average age of the team in 2011 was 26.5 years, and I wouldn't be surprised to see that number go down this year. Here are some names that could become household ones by the end of the season.
Danny Amendola, WR, 26 years old
I absolutely love Danny's potential even after a season-ending triceps injury in Week 1 last year. He's quick, he's fit, and he can catch the football in short-yardage situations.
I still think he could end up like Wes Welker.
Brian Quick, WR, 23 years old
Another wide out with so much potential, but it may be too early to proclaim this guy as a bona fide offensive threat. Still, I love what he's done in the preseason.
Quick was taken in the second round out of Appalachian State in this year's draft, and he stands at 6'3'', 220 pounds. That's a big, physical ball hawk the Rams have been looking for.
James Laurinaitis, MLB, 25 years old
If the Rams are a top-10 defensive team in 2012, the former Ohio State backer will be right in the middle of it because, let's face it, he's nasty. He's a tackling machine and with Chris Long, he anchors this defense. Enough said.
Lance Kendricks, TE, 24 years old
Kendricks is a favorite of Sam Bradford, and if he can be utilized by this offense, it will take major pressure off the other wide receivers.
He only started 10 games last season, and if he can play a full season, I see him being the most productive tight end on this team since...and that's my point.
