Funeral for prominent St. Louis businessman today - KSDK

St. Louis (KSDK) -- A St. Louis businessman who helped bring the St. Louis Rams to the city and raise millions of dollars for BackStoppers will be laid to rest Tuesday. 

Jerry Clinton, 74, died last week after a five-year battle with cancer.

He's widely credited with helping lure the Rams from Los Angeles to St. Louis.  He also raised millions of dollars for families of fallen police officers and firefighters through the annual Guns 'N Hoses boxing event.

Clinton will be remembered at a 9:30 a.m. funeral mass at the Cathedral Basilica.  A graveside service will be held immediately afterwards at Resurrection Cemetery.

The funeral procession may cause some traffic issues.  The procession will start at 9:00 a.m. at Bopp Chapel in Kirkwood. The motorcade will then travel down I-64 to Kingshighway en route to the Cathedral Basilica.

Route for procession to the Catherdral:
Exit 64/40 at Kingshighway and turn left (north).
Turn right (east) on West Pine Blvd.
Turn left (north) on Newstead Ave.
Turn left (west) on Lindell Blvd to cathedral.

Route from the Cathedral to Resurrection Cemetery:
Travel west on Lindell Blvd.
Turn left (south) on Kingshighway.
Turn right (west) on Chippewa.
Turn left (south) on McKenzie Rd.
Turn right into second entrance of Resurrection Cemetery.
