With the St. Louis Rams ending their 2011 season with a 2-14 record, multiple changes were bound to be made. It started with the coaching staff when the Rams decided to let go of head coach Steve Spagnuolo and bring in highly sought after coach, Jeff Fisher.

Fisher has since added Gregg Williams and Brian Schottenheimer to his staff to run his defense and offense. Now, according to multiple reports, he has brought one of his former Tennessee Titans cohorts into the fold. Dave McGinnis has been added to the Rams' new coaching roster as the assistant head coach.

Star-divide

For long time Cardinals fans, McGinnis is a very familiar name. He has spent the past eight season with the Titans, but before that, he was apart of the Arizona Cardinals organization.

McGinnis called Arizona his home from 1996-2003. He was brought in to be the defensive coordinator under former head coach, Vince Tobin, who is now with the Green Bay Packers. When Tobin was fired in 2000, McGinnis was promoted to head coach midway through the season.

During his 3.5 seasons as head coach of the Cardinals, McGinnis posted a 17-40 record. He was fired after 2003 after the Cards went 4-12 in the new NFC West.

Now, McGinnis will be joining what some would consider an All-Star cast on the St. Louis Rams. With his knowledge of the defensive side of the ball, there is no doubt that he will be an excellent addition and supplement to Jeff Fisher's staff.
