Missouri Tigers: Mizzou hopes to rebound against non-conference foe Arizona ... - KY3

The Tigers offense played well enough to win against Georgia through the first three quarters.  Junior quarterback James Franklin was 25-of-41 for 269 yards and two touchdowns.  However, he only added 250 yards rushing in 20 attempts.  Mizzou finished with 371 total yards.  Kendial Lawrence added only 41 yards on the ground.  He compiled 121 yards on the ground against Southeastern Louisiana.

"I definitely want to get the running backs the ball a little bit more, and that had a lot to do with even me giving it or me pulling it on some of the reads," said Franklin. "I thought the running game was pretty good (against Georgia), especially for the circumstances and I'm just looking to get better."

Arizona State has been a surprise this college football season under new Head Coach Todd Graham.  The Sun Devils bested Illinois 45-14, piling up more than 500 yards.  The offense is balanced too, led by quarterback Taylor Kelly and running back Cameron Marshall.  Kelly completed 18-of-24 for 249 yards against Illinois.

Mizzou will play without starting offensive lineman Elvis Fisher.  The senior is out indefinitely after injuring his knee against Georgia.  Starting linebacker Zaviar Gooden is not expected to play too.

The non-conference showdown is a 'sandwich' game of sorts, between last weekend's SEC opener and next week's tough road test at top ten South Carolina.

"We kind of take it as another game, definitely want to come back strong, especially after a tough loss this last week and we are going to go out there and execute and get a win," said Franklin.

Kickoff against Arizona State is at 6:00 p.m.  ESPN-2 will air the game.
