St. Louis Rams vs. Detroit Lions: Week 1 Previews and Predictions - Bleacher Report

The Lions have one of the brightest young quarterbacks in the league in Matthew Stafford and the all-world Calvin Johnson at wide receiver. Their defense is rugged if not nasty (in more ways than one).  The team is hoping all of their offseason woes are behind them and can get back to the playoffs for the second straight season.

These are not your father's Lions.

The Rams, on the other hand, do not strike fear in too many teams.

Poor Steven Jackson. He toils with this inept offense year after year. He's a great running back, but no one can appreciate him because of where and who he plays for. The Rams added Isaiah Pead as a change of pace running back to Jackson.

Sam Bradford hopes he can somehow utilize wide receivers like Steve Smith (not from Panthers, but the former Eagle and Giant), Brandon Gibson, Danny Amendola and rookie Brian Quick. It's probably a safe bet not many of these guys are on your fantasy team this year. However, the Lions secondary is vulnerable, so you never know.

The thing to look forward to most in this game is the post-game handshake between Jeff Fisher and Jim Schwartz. If Fisher can light Schwartz's fire, it could be fun.
