St. Louis Cardinals will be honored at White House

WASHINGTON D.C. -- The St. Louis Cardinals will be honored at the White House on January 17 according to the Office of the Press Secretary for President Obama.

The big question: Will Albert Pujols be in attendance? What about Tony La Russa? Albert now plays for the Angels. Tony is retired. So far, there are no official reports regarding what members of the team will make the trip.  However, the St. Louis Post Dispatch reports Albert will not attend and LaRussa may have a scheduling conflict.

The White Hosue press release also says, "The President will also recognize the efforts by the Cardinals to give back to their community as part of their visit, continuing the tradition begun by President Obama of honoring sports teams for their efforts on and off the field."
